Monday - Friday Days

Hours:

06:30 – 16:00

Responsibilities
  • Execute transport plans to ensure transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved and develop efficient routes while maximizing vehicle capacity.
  • Ensure work is distributed in compliance with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements.
  • Ensure customer products are delivered on time and in full using cost-effective methods and best use of resources, including maximizing driver utilisation in line with current driver hours and WTD legislation.
  • Utilise site software to plan deliveries and meet delivery windows.
  • Liaise with customers regarding delays and potential delivery issues.
  • Develop backhaul lanes with Menzies depots and 3rd party customers while maintaining fleet utilisation.
  • Coordinate late load reports in line with operational requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure drivers are compliant with the Working Time Directive and download Driver cards for analysis.
  • Ensure Site Planners comply with transport legislation and reduce tachograph infringements to the company target, adhering to WTD regulations.
  • Communicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies Depots.
  • Be aware of delays and issues with deliveries through liaising with Site Planners.
  • Source local agency drivers as required (in conjunction with PSL) with a clear brief of the job requirements.
  • Source local sub-contractors as required.
  • Ensure Site Planners are aware that loads meet safety standards.
  • Manage Site Planners to optimise start times.
  • Ensure adequate pre-briefing of drivers by Transport Supervisors so they understand instructions.
  • Ensure adequate de-briefing of drivers on return with correct documentation.
  • Comply with the Agency Driver checklist.
  • Record trailer information on inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers.
  • Understand and communicate agreed KPI’s for the department.
  • Carry out other transport office duties as required.
  • Ensure drivers are appropriately trained and familiarised with operations and equipment.
  • May deputise for the Manager on daily plan/do/review calls when needed.
  • Coordinate with driver agencies for ad-hoc and peak driver support.
