Specialist HGV Driver

Our public sector client are looking for HGV Drivers to join them on a temporary basis.

Pay Rate:

• £15.50 per hour (during training)
• £16.50 per hour (post-qualification)

Job Summary:
We’re looking for a qualified and reliable HGV Driver to transport waste from Leicestershire County Council’s Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) to disposal facilities using hook loader vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely collect and transport waste using HGV hook loaders
• Complete daily job schedules efficiently and accurately
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects
• Maintain clean and fuelled vehicles
• Wear uniform and PPE at all times
• Communicate professionally with site staff and the public
• Follow instructions from Transport Supervisor and Fleet Manager
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid HGV licence
• Driver CPC
• Loading shovel ticket (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with HGVs and waste haulage preferred
• Familiarity with hook loaders and easy-sheet systems
