Location: Coalville
Salary: 35,000 - 39,000 DOE
Shift: 4 on 4 off 6:00am - 6:00pm
Job Type: Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and well-established logistics business operating a nationwide general haulage network.

If you've worked as a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, Traffic Planner or Logistics Planner within general haulage, we'd like to hear from you.

General haulage experience is essential and applications without this background will not be considered.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for planning vehicles, allocating drivers and ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

You'll work closely with drivers, customers and the warehouse team to keep the operation moving while reacting quickly to changing priorities throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan daily transport routes across a busy general haulage operation.
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently.
  • Manage delays, breakdowns and last-minute changes.
  • Liaise with drivers, customers and warehouse teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
  • Update Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • Monitor PODs and transport paperwork.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while achieving operational KPIs.
What We're Looking For Essential
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Transport Planner.
  • Previous General Haulage experience (essential).
  • Experience planning UK transport operations.
  • Knowledge of Drivers' Hours legislation.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Confident using Transport Management Systems.
