Entry Criteria:
No formal qualifications required / Pre‑apprenticeship / Potential to work towards SVQ level 6 & 7. Candidates will undertake a pre‑employment assessment and interview.

About the role

Mears North Lanarkshire are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Business Support Apprentice to join our team. This role provides hands‑on experience in administrative processes, supporting the delivery of critical services within a fast‑paced environment.

Accountabilities
  • Receive inbound calls from customers/service users
  • Send and respond to email communication
  • Log and investigate repairs
  • Complete apprenticeship assignments (2 hours a day provided for work on assignments)
  • Complete assignments that are customer‑service based and, where possible, relate to the day‑to‑day work within the role
Key Criteria
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and development
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Willingness to work within a team environment and support colleagues
  • Ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 functions (Word, Excel, Outlook)
