Job Overview

35-year-old historically successful Building Contractors based in Coatbridge are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a full-time office-based role.

QS will be required to support estimating and delivery and report to Commercial Manager overseeing projects.

Primary work areas include external walls, roofing, and cladding.

Working 38 hours Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm.

Pension included.

  • Tendering and procurement processes
  • Contract administration
  • Cost control and financial monitoring
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Financial analysis
  • Risk assessment
  • Project forecasting
Employer Expectations Skills/Knowledge/Experience
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Knowledge of external wall systems, roofing and cladding projects preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Competent in preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and estimating/commercial software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Professional and client-focused approach
Qualifications/Tickets/Licences Required
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
  • Relevant industry experience considered in place of formal qualifications
  • CSCS card preferred
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
