The Role

The post holder is responsible for assisting the school nurse team with the delivery of a school health service meeting the identified physical and psycho-social needs of the children and young people working within agreed protocols to undertake and agreed range of duties supervised and unsupervised at the discretion of qualified professionals within the school nursing team.

What

we'll need you to bring
  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
  • Must have access to a car with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence - Provisional Licence will not be accepted

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have
  • Evidence of continuous personal development and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Willing to undertake relevant further education
  • Previous experience working in a community health care setting
  • Ability to type standard letters
  • Ability to actively participate in a range of meetings that support effective communication
  • Ability to work with databases

Full time - Term Time - reduced working year contract

37 hours

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based from Coathill Hospital within the School Immunisation Team - Travel to various school locations within Lanarkshire

The working pattern for this role is: 08.00am - 16.00/30pm (Term Time)
