The Role

The postholder will carry continuing responsibility for the management of a specified ward area. He or she will be involved in providing both individualised patient care and in planning, implementing and evaluating clinical care within all areas of the maternity service, ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire’s policy and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC. To provide safe, effective, person centred care.

In this key role, you will:

  • Planning, assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating planned programmes of care
  • Being an advocate for women and their families and promoting normality throughout pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period
  • Provide a health education role for women, their partners and extended families
  • Setting and maintaining standards of care
What You'll Bring
  • Registered Midwife/Nurse with valid NMC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
