General Manager
Annual salary: up to £63,031.03, plus £4 800 car allowance and a range of company benefits.

Coatbridge. Contract Type:
Full‑time, permanent.
Working hours:
08:00–16:30.
The General Manager will provide effective leadership and demonstrate a strong approach to mentoring and motivating staff within the branch team. They will set a clear direction for the contracts, lead by example and develop sustainable client and stakeholder relationships. The role is part of Mears' partnership with North Lanarkshire Council to deliver excellent services to residents and community training benefits.
Responsibilities- Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities and embedded in all stakeholders of the contract.
- Follow appropriate training to fully understand the business operating systems, ensuring compliant cost control and efficient operational performance.
- Review, monitor and control branch/contract performance to ensure delivery of P&L is in line with or exceeding agreed budget levels.
- Demonstrate control over all business governance, risk management processes and adherence to delegated authorities.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Undertake monthly joint health & safety visits with the H&S team.
- Embed company values and procedures through the principles of the Mears Red Thread.
- Monitor work and staff through monthly branch/contract meetings, annual appraisals and annual staff surveys.
- Must have a trade background.
- Experience in building maintenance and refurbishment.
- Ability to effectively utilise a range of software programmes.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
- Strong understanding of the principles of contract and project management.
- Effectively manage, support and resolve personnel issues.
- Experience of effectively leading and managing a team.
- Having a genuine understanding of industry and service delivery to a full range of clients.
- IT literate; utilising Microsoft packages.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21, have a licence held for over 3 months and no more than 9 penalty points.
