Shift Pattern:
Monday - Thursday
Shift Times: 12:00 - 22:30

Working Hours:

40-45 hours per week with 1 hour unpaid lunch. This assignment is temporary ongoing with the potential to lead into a permanent position.

Manpower are looking for a 7.5T / HGV2 Driver to work for our client based in Coatbridge. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company, working in brand-new facilities with top-of-the-line equipment, while making a positive environmental impact.

Job Overview:
As an HGV Delivery Driver, you will be the face of the business, delivering fresh cooking oil to the catering industry and collecting used oil to return to the Microsite. Relationship building with customers is key, as our client aims to ensure every order is fulfilled in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner. You will also have the opportunity to assist in generating new business during your rounds.

• Pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
• Regular maintenance of the vehicle to keep it in good condition and report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Drive the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to traffic laws and safety procedures while operating the vehicle.
• Safely load and unload cargo and ensure it is secured according to safety regulations.
• Deliver fresh oil to the catering/restaurant trade and collect used cooking oil.
• Make/take payment for oil and maintain accuracy of cash/pre-paid cards.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues during transport.
• Accurately record information following oil delivery and/or collection (e.g., completion of Waste Transfer Notes).
• Report missed or failed deliveries daily to the Microsite Manager.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.

• Driving Licence & Clean Record: A valid UK driving licence with no points or endorsements.
• Valid CPC and Tacho cards.
• 7.5T and/or HGV2 Driving
  
  Experience:
  
  Proven experience driving 7.5T or HGV2 in the UK, with a solid understanding of road laws and regulations (minimum 6 months).
• Excellent Communication

  Ability to communicate effectively with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers.
• Professionalism:
  Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Customer Service Orientation: A friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to engage with customers to enhance their experience.
• Sales Experience (Desirable):
  Experience in business-to-business sales and achieving sales targets as part of a driving role would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Safety Awareness:
  Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Problem-Solving Ability:
  Ability to handle unexpected situations and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, particularly when handling documents.
• Reliability & Flexibility: A strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
