Yard Operative

Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts is recruiting a Yard Operative in Coatbridge (ML5) on a temporary‑to‑permanent, full‑time basis. This role requires 45 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with winter shifts from 6am‑3.45pm and summer from 7am‑4.45pm, paying £13.80 per hour with overtime at time and a half or double time. Duties involve loading and unloading mats and materials, performing general housekeeping and organisation, assisting with stock movement and storage, safely operating basic yard equipment, and following all site health and safety procedures.

Essential skills include previous yard experience, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to support wider operational tasks.

• Loading and unloading of mats and other materials
• General yard duties including housekeeping and organisation
• Assisting with the movement and storage of stock within the yard
• Operating basic yard equipment in a safe manner
• Following site health & safety procedures at all times
• Supporting wider yard operations as required

• Previous yard operative experience preferable but not essential
• Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual tasks, including lifting and carrying
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Good teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
