Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or AssocRICS Building Surveyor to join a growing specialist consultancy working exclusively within the historic built environment.
This role is ideal for a recently Chartered Surveyor looking to develop their expertise within heritage and conservation. You'll work on a diverse range of prestigious projects including castles, cathedrals, churches, forts, and listed residential properties, alongside some of the UK's leading conservation professionals.
The position offers an excellent balance of professional surveys and project work, with genuine opportunities for career progression. As the team continues to expand, you'll have the chance to progress into a senior leadership role, managing your own team and overseeing high-quality conservation projects.
There is also the opportunity to undertake IRATA rope access training for specialist inspection work if this is an area of interest.
Key Responsibilities Carry out detailed building condition surveys on historic and listed buildings.
Produce high-quality survey reports using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, laser scanning and photogrammetry.
Act as Lead Designer on conservation and restoration projects.
Design repair schemes for heritage buildings.
Manage Listed Building Consent applications and related approvals.
Provide expert building surveying advice to a range of clients.
Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and conservation bodies throughout project delivery.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Requirements Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) or AssocRICS qualification.
Experience with in the built environment, with an interest in heritage or conservation projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, CAD software and digital data management systems.
Good understanding of Listed Building Consent, planning legislation and construction practices.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of modern surveying techniques and technologies.
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for site visits.
