Position SummaryThe Quality Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining, and continuously improving the facility’s Quality Management System to ensure compliance with internationally recognized quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines. This role ensures that all products produced meet safety, quality, and legal standards and that the facility remains in a state of continuous audit readiness. The Quality Manager provides leadership and oversight of quality and food safety programs and personnel.
EssentialFunctions
The Quality Manager maintains and improves the Quality Management System in alignment with AIB standards and leads all audit preparation activities, corrective actions, and ongoing compliance initiatives. This role oversees Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) programs, allergen management, sanitation verification, pest control, and foreign material prevention programs to ensure product safety and quality.
This position is responsible for investigating and resolving quality issues and customer complaints through root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Manager trains, coaches, and develops staff on quality and food safety standards, conducts routine plant inspections and internal audits, and ensures adherence to established procedures. The role also includes managing and leading a team of 10 or more personnel.
DesiredSkills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as biology, chemistry, food manufacturing, or quality.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a food manufacturing or co‑packing quality role is required.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, allergen control, and sanitation programs is essential.
- Experience working with international quality standards such as AIB, ISO 9001, or SQF is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required.
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery. The position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking. Work is performed in a non‑temperature‑controlled warehouse environment where indoor temperatures fluctuate seasonally. This role may require extended hours, including weekends, holidays, and other shifts, with overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
