Our worldwide group of companies has operations, sales and service entities across Europe, Middle East, India, Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia, South Africa and North and South America Your Role The Shift Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and effective operation of electrical systems and production plant during shift operation. The postholder will carry out independent fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, control, and automation systems, responding to breakdowns, executing planned maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement of plant reliability.

The role operates under the site Electrical Safety Rules and Permit-to-Work system, with technical accountability escalating to the Site Electrical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities Shift Electrical Maintenance & Fault Response Act as a primary electrical responder to plant breakdowns during shift. Independently diagnose and rectify faults across: o Electrical distribution systems (LV) o Motors, drives, and motor control centres o Instrumentation and sensors o Machine safety circuits Restore plant to service safely and efficiently following failures. Carry out PLC interrogation and diagnostics to support fault finding and root cause identification.

Work alongside Technical Support Engineers or the Site Electrical Engineer for complex or repeat control issues. Planned & Preventative Maintenance Identify deteriorating assets and escalate reliability risks. Work strictly in accordance with electrical safety & compliance. Provide technical guidance to: electrical Crafts persons, Apprentices and junior staff. Support cross-discipline working with mechanical and production teams. Contribute to shift handovers, breakdown reports, and defect escalation.

Maintain discipline in documentation, tagging, and equipment labelling. About you Preferred Skill & Experience Call-out rota participation Exposure to TPM or reliability improvement activities Experience supporting commissioning or plant modifications Essential Skill & Experience Industrial / manufacturing electrical maintenance experience Independent and teamwork breakdown fault finding on production plant

Preferred Qualifications HNC / ONC in Electrical or Control Engineering Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 / equivalent) PLC platform training (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) Essential Qualifications Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation (or equivalent) or Time-served electrical apprenticeship Current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
