Digital News Writer

Sinclair has an exciting opportunity for a Digital News Writer! We are searching for a passionate journalist with a keen eye for breaking news around the country. This position requires a quick worker who cares deeply about being “first” to report distinctive stories while also maintaining the highest standard of accuracy.

• Rapidly write digital news stories about breaking topics
• Identify newsworthy topics for Sinclair’s nationwide digital news audience
• Collaborate with broadcast producers to translate digital stories into broadcast stories
• Evaluate coworkers’ digital stories before publishing
• Front short video adaptations of digital stories to be published on Sinclair platforms

• 1-3+ years experience in digital news writing
• Ability to utilize an online content management system
• Fluent in AP Style
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
• Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus

* This is an in-office role, 5 days a week at our Sinclair Headquarters located at 10706 Beaver Dam Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $58,000-$60,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
