The Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier is seeking candidates for a Liturgical Coordinator. The Liturgical and Mission Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the worship life of the parish community by coordinating and providing quality liturgical experiences that celebrate and strengthen parishioners’ journey of Faith. This is a part‑time position requiring scheduled on‑site office hours, including some evenings and weekends. The weekly scheduled hours are 19 with no benefits.
EssentialFunctions
- Recruit, train, and schedule greeters, ushers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) leaders, and sacristans.
- Evaluate and supervise the curriculum for Baptism Preparation.
- Evaluate and supervise the curriculum for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
- Oversee sacristans (daily, weekend, funeral, and wedding).
- Collaborate with the pastor on special blessings and Mass scripts.
- Prepare liturgies for special liturgical events in collaboration with the pastor.
- Order and maintain supplies for the church.
- Coordinate the cleaning of liturgical vestments and altar.
- Coordinate the liturgical environment and décor according to the liturgical season.
- Weddings:
Coordinate and prepare materials, meet with couples to plan the liturgy, and compile materials for the liturgy. - Funerals:
Meet with families, plan the liturgy, execute scripts and worship aids, and schedule ministers. - Maintain a work process binder for job-related tasks.
- Manage the Liturgy Committee and serve as the point of contact for all ministerial committees.
- Oversee audio‑visual coordination, livestream management, and technical equipment maintenance.
- Attend general and department staff meetings.
- Participate in and be visibly present at parish liturgies and events, particularly on Sundays.
- Uphold and align with the vision of the pastor and parish leadership.
- Practicing and devoted Catholic who is fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church.
- Bachelor’s degree in Liturgy, Theology, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Experience or formal education in Church documents.
- Previous parish experience in a related field is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
- Ability to discern the needs of others and respond appropriately with empathy.
- Knowledge of ethical issues in pastoral care.
- Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
- Must be able to work a schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends.
$25.00 - $30.00, Hourly
