About This RoleTextron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration, vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities.
Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities
We workon applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products.

- Providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity on both current and next generation technologies in support of our family of Sea Vehicle products
- Participating in software development of new products across all phases of the product lifecycle from concept development to lab and offsite integration and evaluation
- Performing software development at component, subsystem and system level including embedded control systems and sensor/operator interface development
- Working cohesively on a multi-functional team with exciting technologies and products
- Leadership and individual contributor growth roles are available
- Providing offsite integration and test support
- Other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field required with 2+ years of experience or master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or related field
- C/C++ or Java programming experience
- Basic shell scripting experience
- Network/Serial/CAN interface development experience is a plus
- Knowledgeable of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA)/Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
- Comfortable working in Unix based development environments
- Experience with Jira and using Git or Mercurial configuration management tools is a plus
- Traveling up to 20% of the time
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance

Textron’s compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. The pay range should be used as a general guide only.
Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $88,200 - $133,000 per year.
