Third Shift Electrical Engineering Technician
Join BD (Tissuemed Ltd) as a Third Shift Electrical Engineering Technician and provide technical support for manufacturing, engineering projects, and programs within the manufacturing engineering team under the guidance of the Senior Engineering Manager. Primary focus is on manufacturing support with opportunities in equipment design, fabrication, implementation, debugging, process development and line efficiency initiatives.
Job OverviewUnder the guidance of the Senior Engineering Manager, you will support manufacturing operations, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and participate in the design and installation of new manufacturing equipment. You will self‑manage tasks, maintain documentation, provide technical guidance to plant operations, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities and Duties- Promote and support safety and OSHA policies.
- Diagnose complex problems in machine operation and develop and implement solutions.
- Participate in the design and installation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Self‑manage assigned tasks to meet manufacturing goals and schedules.
- Create and maintain records of work, including engineering drawings, test procedures, and validation activities.
- Provide technical guidance to others within engineering and plant operations as needed.
- Apply technical knowledge to solve problems on manufacturing and process control equipment.
- Work with PLCs, MMI’s, electromechanical sensors, and controllers; experience with ladder logic, RSLogix, Factory Talk, and related software is required.
- Assemble and install electrical control hardware and wiring; install conduits and raceways for manufacturing equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and logic analyzers.
- Assist with integration of automation solutions, database interfaces, and reporting systems.
- Share information efficiently with Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Support personnel.
- High School diploma or GED required;
Associate’s degree or 10 years of relevant experience preferred. - Strong technical skills in controls, vision systems, mechanical/ electro‑mechanical/pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to collaborate with Quality, Production, Facilities, and Machine Shop teams.
- Knowledge of current technology, OSHA, FDA validation requirements, and statistical engineering.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to interface with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software is a plus.
$33.60 – $52.00 USD hourly
