Hydraulic Modeler

Our client is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler to join their fast-growing consulting practice. In this role, you will lead sanitary sewer and water distribution system modeling projects, mentor junior engineers, and deliver high-quality solutions for clients across the Mid-Atlantic. • Lead hydraulic modeling projects, including scope development, hours estimates, and project schedules.
• Build, update, calibrate, and analyze hydraulic models for water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
• Identify system performance deficiencies, predict future issues, and recommend solutions for planning and design projects.
• Prepare calculations, models, technical reports, and design deliverables for utility infrastructure projects.
• Manage project budgets, deliver timely updates to Project Managers, and track progress.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of study, planning, and design documents.
• Mentor and coach design staff through the hydraulic modeling process.
• Collaborate with sub‑consultants, internal disciplines, and clients attending meetings, providing updates, and offering solutions to meet expectations.
• Prepare proposals, alternative studies, reports, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to engineering staff, ensuring alignment with project goals.

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

• 8 + years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling, transient analyses, and data management tools (e.g.,
  Info Works, Water
  
  GEMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, KY Pipe, EPA-SWMM
  ).
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, engineering economics, and technical report writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience working with local, county, and state clients.
