Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Analyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop an accurate report for submittal.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasks.
• Assess collection/distribution system performance deficiencies, predict future issues, and develop solutions for planning and design projects.
• Demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, water/wastewater pump station and treatment process design, engineering economics, preparation of specifications and engineering report writing.
• Firm grasp of general heavy construction principles; environmental facilities operations experience considered a plus.
• Perform design computations.
• Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Develop or review the construction cost estimate.
• Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates.
• Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design.
• Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
• Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department.

• 5-10 Years Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Professional Engineering License.
• Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
• Field work occasionally; lifting up to 25 lbs.
