We are seeking a career-minded Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler to join a fast-growing Water/Wastewater consulting engineering team. This role is ideal for an individual focused on hydraulic modeling of sanitary sewer collection systems and potable water distribution systems.
The selected candidate will lead engineering tasks and projects in the municipal water and wastewater utility space, bringing advanced modeling capabilities, client coordination, and team mentorship to critical infrastructure efforts.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Lead hydraulic modeling tasks, including scope, schedule, and budget development.
- Create, update, and calibrate models for water/wastewater systems using specialized software.
- Conduct capacity assessments, rehabilitation planning, and capital improvement forecasting.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines, including internal staff and sub-consultants.
- Review and validate technical deliverables, design reports, and engineering calculations.
- Provide coaching to junior staff and maintain consistent client communication.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality control procedures.
- Prepare technical documents such as system assessments, operations descriptions, and modeling results.
- Develop extra work order requests and support task proposals.
- Support client planning and design initiatives through informed, data-driven insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 8–10+ years of experience in hydraulic modeling for municipal water/wastewater systems.
- Strong background in modeling sanitary sewer and potable water systems.
- Proficiency in software such as Info Works, Water
GEMS, EPA-SWMM, or similar. - Understanding of sewer rehabilitation, hydraulic design, and infrastructure planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience working with local or state clients in the Mid-Atlantic.
- Leadership or mentorship experience in engineering project teams.
- Knowledge of regional infrastructure regulations and practices.
