OverviewAECOM offers a comprehensive suite of subsurface utility engineering (SUE), private utility locating and services to its diverse customer base composed of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, and other Construction and Infrastructure. We are seeking an Entry Level SUE Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career with an internationally-known infrastructure consulting firm.
Responsibilities- Utilize advanced geophysical equipment, observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate utilities (vacuum excavation) within a requested job scope in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
- Ideal candidates will possess troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent + 2 years of experience within a surveying, utility mapping or construction-related role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Position requires frequent traveling to field locations. Locations and distances vary and could include occasional overnight travel.
- Frequent lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Frequent outdoor work in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
- Daily walking several miles to perform job duties. Frequently across outdoor construction environments with a variety of uneven terrains such as mud, rock, grass, dirt and other unpaved terrains and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Surveying or construction related experience.
- SUE and/or private locating experience.
- Experience and understanding of SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
- Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $22 to $25.
