Summary

Perform one or more of the analytical activities associated with the experimentation and testing in the laboratory as it relates to the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and/or Global Operations Services (GOS) groups for Business Development customer requirements.

3rd Shift Position – 11PM to 7:30 AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand assembly, repair and test processes & procedures.
  • Interface and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Understand SMT/PTH primary and rework process fundamentals.
  • Operate standard SMT (i.e. screen printers, pick and placement, reflow, BGA rework), and PTH (i.e. spray fluxer, wave solder) equipment.
  • Understand hardware, test equipment, software and program languages used by the group.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment to specifications.
  • Perform laboratory experiments, collect/document test results and support projects as directed.
  • Maintain documentation of experiment and research findings using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Perform cross-section, dye and pry and other analyses as directed.
  • Assist in evaluating results of testing and analysis.
  • Understanding of the anatomy of a solder joint.
  • Support Jabil manufacturing groups with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with time tracking procedures for all work performed.
  • Follow directions and instructions as directed by engineering staff supervisor.
  • Be familiar with and maintain relevant industry standards and specifications.
  • Be familiar with advancements in technology as a continuous improvement of core competency.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by engineering staff.
  • Understanding of Hazardous Materials handling and ESD avoidance procedures.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • Complete training requirements identified by department manager.
  • Continuous improvement of core competency in advanced technology.
  • Comply with departmental time tracking procedures for all work performed.
  • Maintain general lab maintenance and cleanliness.
Minimum Requirements

HS Diploma and 2 years experience performing lab experiments; troubleshooting, problem solving of laboratory issues required. Associate’s degree preferred.

Language Skills

Strong grammar skills and the ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the technology engineers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

Frequent walking and lifting/carrying PC’s and test equipment weighing up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.

Work Environment

Primary workstation is located in the advanced technology laboratory; some time each day in the office area and occasionally on the manufacturing floor. Noise level ranges from low to moderate.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range: $21.44 - $38.61.
