Job DescriptionBW Paper systems is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team! The role involves performing rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings, heads and parts of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals and alloys. You will machine parts to specifications using manual and CNC machine tools such as mills, lathes, saws and grinders.
Key Responsibilities- Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to prepare machinery work.
- Perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on shafts, housings, heads and parts.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
- Use GD&T principles to interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Use mathematical knowledge to calculate location and positioning of features.
- Edit programs, set up, adjust and operate machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Monitor feed and speed during machining and perform quality control checks.
- Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers, dial bore gauges and calipers.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment; report and correct unsafe work practices or conditions immediately.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Multi‑task various duties throughout the day; maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility.
- Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
The approximate pay range for this position is $23/HR – $30/HR. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location.
