Party & Event Host

Job Summary

Store – BALT‑HUNT VALLEY, MD – Coordinate, plan, and facilitate events (including children’s birthday parties) within a Michaels store, providing a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.

• Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find products.
• Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Perform operational tasks such as truck unloads, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver brand promises.
• Plan multiple events concurrently, engage clients of all ages (4–94+), and create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and face‑painting activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and processing paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup or emergency plans when needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for all scheduled events and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Assist with omni‑channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes.
• Perform store‑in‑stock optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs and adhere to SOPs and company policies.
• Interact with others respectfully, remain positive in difficult situations, and promote company vision and values.
• Act as a role model for other team members and are cross‑trained in custom framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—written, verbal, non‑verbal, and listening.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Organizational and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience (required).
• Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to move throughout the store.
• Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
• Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

Base Pay Range: $15.00 – $17.70 per hour.
