Job Summary:

RMS is seeking a Commercial HVAC Installer. The role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, and custom piping solutions. This position requires technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a customer-centric approach to support RMS’s reputation for excellence in Mid-Atlantic commercial and industrial sectors.

• Install commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, VAV systems, and custom HVAC piping, adhering to blueprints, specifications, and local codes.
• Perform system commissioning and testing to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to enhance efficiency and longevity, including filter changes, belt checks, and system diagnostics.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical components in commercial HVAC systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution on commercial and industrial job sites.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operations, maintenance needs, and energy-efficient solutions.
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, with proficiency in systems such as VRF, rooftop units, split systems, VAV, and mini splits.
• Strong CW, HW and Refrigeration piping knowledge and skill.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required; NATE, OSHA 10/30.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, blueprints, schematics, and building automation systems.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access confined spaces in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
