Melbourne, FL hours Tuesday - Friday 2:00PM - 10:30PM, Saturday 10:30AM - 7:00PM

Transdev in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Mechanics to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanics, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, etc.
• Ensure work orders are completed properly & maintain records of all work completed, including parts and supplies used.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred, or able to obtain within 90 days of employment
• 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
• Process, or willing to obtain Commercial Driver’s License within the first year of employment is strongly preferred
• ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic’s tool set.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

• The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
