Adjunct Instructor, Engineering Technology - Computer Numerical Control (CNC) (Pooled Position, North Campus)

Posting details:
This is a part-time adjunct role with responsibilities for providing customized training and instruction in advanced manufacturing, including CNC milling and tooling, to adult learners. This position supports Broward College’s mission to foster student success and to train a diverse workforce, including neurodivergent populations through the Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA).

Responsibilities
  • Provide customized instruction and training for future manufacturing employees.
  • Teach and facilitate adult learners in CNC machine operation and programming, manual machining, and related topics.
  • Offer knowledge and instruction in areas such as Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Inspection and Measurement, Metrology and Metallurgy for the Machine Trades, Lean Manufacturing, and related subjects.
  • Deliver courses in traditional face-to-face and blended (hybrid) formats as required, and maintain office hours (including possible evenings/weekends).
Minimum Education
  • Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology:
    Drafting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related subfield OR
  • Master’s Degree and 18 graduate credits in the same fields OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the listed fields with appropriate industry certification or licensure and 3 years of work experience in an Engineering field;
    Ph.D. preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training
  • Prior college teaching experience is preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching.
  • Willingness and ability to teach in both traditional and blended formats.
  • Office hours required; some schedules may include evenings and/or weekends.
Experience Preferred
  • Haas and/or Fanuc Controllers
  • National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Credentials
  • Online Tooling U resources
  • Experience with Neurodivergent populations
