Para-Educator - Title I
Salary: $18.90 - $31.90
Park County School District 6
Purpose StatementThe job of Para-Educator - Title I is performed to assist, tutor, and train Title I‑identified students in a classroom or similar learning situation and to carry out classroom clerical tasks that support the instructional process.
ReportingThis position reports to the Building Principal and the Title I Teacher.
Responsibilities- Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods.
- Lead, guide, and/or coordinate others as needed.
- Operate within a defined budget and utilize resources from other work units when required.
- Maintain confidentiality, exhibit patience and compassion, and work as part of a team.
- Adapt to changing work priorities and manage frequent interruptions.
- Organize tasks, set priorities, and work extended hours when necessary.
- Use basic job-related equipment and participate in problem‑solving with data and equipment within prescribed guidelines.
- Skills: Operate standard office equipment; prepare, manage, and maintain accurate records; adhere to safety practices and procedures; administer first aid; analyze data; apply assessment instruments; use curriculum and instructional techniques.
- Knowledge: Basic algebra and/or geometry; ability to read manuals, write documents, and present information; understanding of age‑appropriate activities for students with special learning needs; behavior management strategies; appropriate use of English; subject matter taught in assigned classrooms; stages of child development; assessment instruments and techniques; classroom instructional media and technology; concepts of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; cultural differences of student population;
health standards and hazards; job‑related codes, laws, regulations, policies; keyboarding; instruction and training methods; office equipment and technology; school safety and security practices. - Abilities: Schedule activities, meetings, and events; collate and use data; operate equipment using defined methods; work flexibly with others; identify issues and select action plans; maintain confidentiality; communicate with diverse backgrounds; adapt to changing priorities.
Job‑related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. High school diploma or equivalent.
Required TestingDistrict proficiency or an AA degree, or completion of 60 course credits.
