Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
DEPARTMENT(S): OB/GYN Clinic (may float to other Clinics)

REPORTS TO:

Clinical Nursing Director or Physician Clinics Director

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing high quality care to patients in a safe, efficient and courteous manner, using proper procedures. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned shift. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.

JOB REQUIREMENTS As Medical Assistant — Prefer graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent experience. As LPN – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Wyoming licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. IV-certified preferred.

EXPERIENCE Prefer at least 2 years of experience in an outpatient care area.

Additional as LPN:

• Up to date on currently used drugs, their actions and side effects.
• Understanding of medical/legal considerations.
• Up to date IV therapy-venipuncture ability (if IV-certified).
• Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS BLS (AHA) required.
