GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position assists with maintaining buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, and water and septic systems at Buffalo Bill State Park.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The following functions are illustrative and not exhaustive:
- Perform site maintenance, including work prioritization, purchasing supplies, and materials.
- Inspect buildings, vehicles, equipment, grounds, and facilities regularly to identify maintenance, repair, and improvement needs.
- Maintain roads and sidewalks.
- Clean and sanitize vault restrooms, office, and shower house areas, including assisting with trash removal from vaults.
- Assist in septic system maintenance and monitoring.
- Plant and maintain trees, lawns, and landscaping.
- Repair and maintain equipment, tools, vehicles, and facilities.
- Supervise and direct seasonal employees.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
- Ensure sewer and dump stations are operational.
- Perform weed control spraying.
- Utilize skills in carpentry, welding, fabrication, mowing, irrigation, painting, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, and janitorial duties.
- Assist with annual building inspections and traffic counts, reporting findings accurately.
- Operate and maintain the site's Level 1 WYDEQ potable water well systems, including winterization and seasonal startup.
- Maintain potable water systems and six water wells, including irrigation systems, winterization, and startup.
- Monitor and adjust chlorine levels for safe water quality.
- Handle chemicals safely for water systems and shop use.
- Collect water samples and send them to laboratories promptly.
- Repair broken waterlines, chemical pumps, and hydrants.
- Assist with changing well pumps.
- Ensure domestic water systems operate properly and are safe to drink, including winterization and startup.
- Assist with sanitary surveys and maintain chlorination systems.
- Complete reports such as purchasing card, gas logs, traffic data, and septic monitoring promptly.
- Assist with fee collection, reservation system, and permit sales.
- Monitor weather stations, reservoir levels, and boat docks.
- Maintain inventories and assess park needs.
- Report vandalism or violations, and cooperate with other agencies professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Preference for candidates with skills in building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance. Must obtain Level 1 Water Distribution System Certification within 1 year of hire.
KNOWLEDGE:- Hazmat laws and regulations; pesticide application.
- Basic carpentry, construction, plumbing, welding, electrical skills.
- Operation and maintenance of light and heavy machinery.
- Shop tools for machinery repair.
- Basic computer skills.
- Customer service excellence.
Education: Associate’s Degree
Experience: 0-1 year in parks maintenance or
OR: 2-4 years of relevant experience
Certificates: None required
PHYSICALWORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
