The Infant Toddler Program is an Early Intervention Program that serves children ages birth through 3 years old. Our Early Interventionists work with families to identify the settings and everyday activities that are unique to each family and work on goals that are the parent/caregiver priorities for their child. We provide family coaching, developmental therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, service coordination, PLAY Project, Infant Mental Health, vision, and hearing support.

Preference will be given for applicants with Education and experience in ECSE evaluation/assessment and plan development/implementation with young children. This position will be located in our Coeur D'Alene office.

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Example of Duties
  • Evaluate infants and toddlers with potential delays or disabilities to assist in determining eligibility for services.
  • Plan and implement early intervention services with families/caregivers to support participation and progressive development of infants and toddlers within their natural environments.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to families, professionals, and associated parties related to child development.
  • Select, administer, analyze, and interpret assessment instruments to determine children's skill development in areas of gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, social and emotional, adaptive/self-help, and communication. Conduct intervention sessions with caregivers in child's natural learning environments, using regularly occurring routines and activities as curriculum.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings to plan intervention services for eligible children based on child's strengths and needs and family interests, functional outcomes objectives, and collaborative teaming.
  • Requires travel to rural areas to provide services to children with developmental delays or disabilities and their families in homes and other community settings. Model and apply effective evidence-based practices related to the birth to age 3 population, adult learning methods, and teaming.
  • Complete or maintain appropriate documentation for each child assessed and for those who are supported with ongoing early intervention services.
  • Complete vision and hearing screens.
  • Engage in annual ongoing professional development activities and training.
Minimum Qualifications

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.

  • Item 1:
    Exceptional Child Certificate with Special Education Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or an Elementary Education Certificate (K-12) with Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement or a Blended Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education Certificate.
