Position Summary

Applies and interprets Holter monitors, providing preliminary diagnostic evaluation of electrocardiograms and reporting findings of examinations to cardiologists for diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Remote monitoring of pacemakers, defibrillators, and implanted cardiac monitors.
  • Perform scheduled and walk‑in ECGs as part of the TOD (tech of day) schedule.
  • Evaluate events from mobile cardiac telemetry for life‑threatening or other serious arrhythmias and appropriately triage severity.
  • Accurately and efficiently monitor, interpret, collect, and record patient data.
  • Consult with cardiologist as needed to determine results for non‑standard examinations.
  • Review patient record to identify any deviations from baseline cardiac profile.
  • Provide support to EP physicians and nurses, assist in pacemaker lab.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, a job essential function.
  • Meet unit‑specific age needs.
Requirements and

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school focusing in health sciences OR a similar combination of certification and experience in a related field.
  • 1 year experience monitoring and/or interpreting heart rhythms with strong demonstrated ability to read cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Demonstrated ability to read 12‑lead ECGs or successful completion of a 12‑lead course within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in a cardiology clinic or in‑hospital cardiac setting preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to maintain a sitting position.
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
  • Repetitive movements.
