Certified Surgical Technologist II - Day Surgery

Position Summary:

In alignment with the specific operational needs and hours of the Day Surgery center, the Certified Surgical Technologist – Day Surgery prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.

• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
• Assists in transporting patient to and from the operating room
• Actively involved in process improvement
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room required
• Competent in two specialty areas required
• BLS required

• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
