Are you a passionate LPN looking to make a real difference in patient care? As a Unit Manager , you will play a vital role in overseeing patient care and leading our dedicated nursing staff. Your expertise will ensure compliance with healthcare laws and uphold our high standards of care.
Position Overview
As the LPN Unit Manager, you will be at the forefront of patient care, supervising and coordinating activities on your unit. Your interpersonal skills will shine as you engage with patients, families, and nursing staff, all while adhering to applicable laws and Life Care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily functions of unit nurses and CNAs, providing essential guidance and support.
- Chart patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and coordinate patient care to help them achieve optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Respond to emergencies with confidence and leadership.
- Collaborate with RNs to coordinate patient care plans.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assist in patient evacuations when necessary.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Engage in physical activities such as lifting, bending, and walking throughout your shift.
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited LPN program.
- Active LPN license in good standing in your state.
- Preferred:
One year of experience in geriatric nursing. - CPR certification required upon hire; must remain current.
Essential Skills
- Advanced knowledge in nursing practices and procedures.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations governing post-acute care facilities.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Adherence to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completion of compliance training.
