Summary
The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Responsibilities
  • Sales Generation and Guest Service
    • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service to each Guest.
    • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
    • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
    • Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
    • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the Team.
    • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
    • Maintain personal and store presentation in line with the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
    • Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
    • Provide legendary service throughout the store:
      Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
    • Assist Guests with trying on or fitting merchandise and complete checkout and bagging.
    • Prepare merchandise for alterations and be knowledgeable of exchange and return procedures.
    • Utilize the SPG daily to accomplish goals and meet Buckle’s customer service expectations.
    • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty; manage special orders or locate merchandise at other stores as needed.
    • Build and maintain good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
    • Contribute to a positive team environment and maintain high standards even when supervision is not present.
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate Recommend.
  • Build relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful attitude to create a positive floor culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize merchandise turn.
  • Stay current on product range and solicit feedback from Guests and Teammates.
  • Ensure the sales floor is properly sized and new freight is displayed.
Operations
  • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.
  • Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and perform related POS duties.
  • Monitor security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Understand and apply all policies regarding payments, exchanges and Loss Prevention practices.
  • Perform merchandising tasks such as handling freight, re-merchandising, preparing displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store; provide feedback to management on merchandise handling concerns.
  • Communicate policy violations and concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Follow Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies and handbooks.
  • Fulfill Buckle’s mission statement by performing duties with a high level of customer service and contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
