Broadband Technician - $2,000 Sign On Bonus

AFL provides industry‑leading fiber optic products and services worldwide. In 2019 we acquired ITC Service Group, a Sacramento‑based broadband installation, design, and staffing firm. Together we deliver passive optical network solutions to the telecommunications and IT sectors.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
• Read and interpret mainframe, cross‑connect, and control point layouts to run jumpers.
• Follow instructions on dispatched jobs, trouble tickets, project prints, and sequence sheets.
• Use test equipment to record and interpret results for all work streams.
• Utilize mobile Android applications and basic computer skills.
• Install and splice fiber optic and copper connections, including aerial, buried, and plenum lines.
• Run and test CAT5/COAX wiring, MOCA or Wi‑Fi technology, and internet hubs.
• Operate lifts, ladders, and perform pole climbing safely.
• Verify service completion and verify telephony color codes.
• Maintain accurate records in Mobile Tech Portal and other workforce management systems.
• Operate vehicles and carry required tools.

• Own vehicle and tools.
• Experience with fiber optics, copper installations, and VOIP or copper telephone services.
• Basic knowledge of electricity and safe installation practices such as OSHA, ladder safety, and working in attics/crawl spaces.
• Proficient with test sets, and understanding of loss, attenuation, and tiling.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Can work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and execute technical drawings and instructions.
