We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Packaging Buyer to join our collaborative Procurement team and play a crucial role in sustaining our ambitious growth. The Packaging Buyer will be integral to ensuring the seamless, consistent supply of high-quality packaging materials, directly enabling the achievement of our demanding weekly production schedules and overarching business objectives. Working within a close-knit team, you will be responsible for executing procurement strategies that align with Medik8's commitments and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Ordering: Purchase the approved packaging components necessary to guarantee the weekly production schedule is met without interruption.
  • Specification & Compliance: Rigorously ensure that all packaging purchases strictly comply with internal technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Financial & Inventory Management: Actively contribute to achieving agreed-upon margin improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives and drive stockholding reductions across relevant categories without compromising service levels.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage the day-to-day supplier lifecycle, including performance measurement and contributions to supplier scorecards.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the first point of escalation for supplier performance issues, driving efficient, smooth resolutions and implementing quick, effective corrective actions.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Maintain and continually update market knowledge regarding sustainable packaging materials and innovations, offer insights to assist in sourcing decisions.
Requirements
  • Industry

    Experience:

    Demonstrable and significant experience purchasing packaging materials specifically within the cosmetics or high-end consumer goods industry.
  • System Proficiency: Proven, hands‑on experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) for planning, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Supplier Development: Strong experience in comprehensive Supplier Management, including successfully executing and delivering against performance improvement plans.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for data analysis, tracking, and reporting) or equivalent G‑suite tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are non‑negotiable, especially concerning specifications, documentation, and data entry.
  • Stakeholder Management: A natural ability to build strong professional relationships and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders (R&D, Production, Finance, Quality, Supply & Demand).
  • Organisation: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities concurrently in a dynamic environment.
