Position SummaryEmployees major job duties will be that of an Industrial Millwright / Machinist. Set up and operate all manual lathes, mills, boring mills, vertical lathes, drill press and surface grinder. Perform all operations necessary to produce parts to exact tolerances for products or equipment. Check work for conformity to specifications. Use of precision measuring equipment. Must be able to read complex drawings.
Must be able to disassemble complex rotating machinery and assemble to OEM specification using standard industrial mechanic duties and knowledge.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required – Machinist certification or millwright apprenticeship. Vo-Tech or equivalent experience.
- Prefer Journeyman Machinist or related field.
- Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.
- Machinist certification or millwright apprenticeship. Vo-Tech or equal experience.
- Basic computer skills for communication with company email and for company maintenance computer program for recording of work done, machine specifications and parts look up.
- Maintain and produce all required written maintenance data forms, charts, sheets complete as possible and in a timely manner.
- Align and adjust all single and multiple coupling rotating machinery plantwide. Create report of completed or incomplete alignments.
- Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Fabricate parts using lathes, mills, etc. as needed.
- Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Observe and listen to plant rotating equipment in order to diagnose/troubleshoot machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustment or repairs.
- Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Provide estimated timeframe needed for job completion.
- Blind pumps and/or compressors to perform scope of work.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign matter.
- Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
- Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics.
- Set up and operate metal working, brazing, heat-treating, welding and cutting equipment.
- Regularly communicate with supervisor about work progress, concerns and questions.
- Maintain all tools keeping them in good condition and reporting damaged or broken tools.
- Maintain a clean work environment in the shop as well as the field, keeping all work areas clean.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Quality and timely results in a driven team player.
- Must follow the Safety Rules and Regulations of the company.
- Must apply Ethical Principles at all times.
