Penmac Staffing is seeking dependable candidates for a full-time Foundry Finisher / Grinder position with a manufacturing client. This hands-on role involves using pneumatic and hydraulic tools to remove excess metal from iron castings and prepare products for the next stage of production. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial environment and using heavy hand tools.
Requirements for the Foundry Finisher / Grinder- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Experience using heavy pneumatic hand tools is preferred
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
- Must be willing to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, and kneel throughout the workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Operate abrasive saws, hand grinders, belt grinders, and portable pneumatic grinding tools
- Use hydraulic cutters and breakers to remove excess metal from castings
- Operate overhead hoists and lifting devices safely
- Remove fins, burrs, gates, risers, and other unwanted projections from iron castings
- Help identify and prevent scrap and quality issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
