Position :
Physics Teacher for Cambridge IGCSE and IAL Curriculum
Hours :
Regular working hours between 8:30am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Some evenings or weekends may be required.

Main features of the position
We are looking for passionate individuals who can mentor children at Middle/Senior environment in our school. This post is based out of our campus located in Coimbatore. Primary function will be to support children’s learning in Physics, help foster an inclusive environment, encourage intellectual curiosity and be consistent with the best of Montessori education.
Job Responsibilities
1. To teach Physics to groups of students across ages of 12 – 17 following the IGCSE and IAL curriculum.
2. To ensure that all lessons are planned & delivered with clear aims and objectives.
3. To take into account the differing ability lessons of students and differentiate work accordingly.
4. To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress against targets.
5. To ensure safety of children at all times while participating in experiments or otherwise.
6. To ensure all experiments are thoroughly tested for risk assessment before children are allowed to work.
7. To encourage and foster intellectual curiosity.
8. To help organise the laboratory and ensure all safety standards are adhered to in spirit and letter.
9. To formulate learning plan to cater to the needs of each individual child.
10.To contribute towards development of reusable resources.
11.To participate in Science events such as trips and primary liaison.
12.Liaison with the management and other teachers or parents as and when required while maintaining at most confidentiality.
13.Attend teachers’ meetings, parents’ meetings and school events both within and outside campus.
14.Perform such other duties as the teachers and management may from time to time reasonably require.
15.Uphold the well enshrined ethos of our school and the Montessori pedagogy.
16.Willingness to attend training courses to reskill, upskill as necessary for work.
17.Maintaining student records, reports, evaluations, inventories.
18.Completing all progress monitoring and benchmark assessments on time as scheduled.
Essential Criteria
Minimum of a Master's degree with specialisation in Physics / Mechanical Engineering
Experience of working with children, preferably within Middle/Senior environments.
Personal warmth, patience, tolerance, empathy, understanding and positivity.
Exceptional self-motivation and sense of responsibility & commitment to children.
Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, co-operating and working with fellow teachers and parents.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Flexibility and adaptability to work with both on-line and off-line medium.
Capacity to be a role model worthy of imitation by children under care.
Preferred Criteria
Experience of working within an alternate school.
Ability to upskill and reskill rapidly.

Warmth in social interaction; allowing children to be themselves, ex: letting children to try things for themselves while being present if help is required, without comment or judgement.
Patience - ex: allowing children’s participation in activities to unfold in its natural time.
