Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Educational Counselor role based at Elevate Academy in Coimbatore. The Educational Counselor will engage with prospective and current students to understand their academic background, interests, and goals, and recommend suitable programming courses and learning paths. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, guiding learners on course selection and progression, and providing information on curriculum, schedules, and learning outcomes.
The role involves offering career counseling related to technology and programming fields, helping learners understand potential career paths and required skills. The counselor will also maintain accurate student records, follow up on student inquiries, support enrollment processes, collaborate with instructors and administrative staff, and participate in seminars, workshops, and informational events that promote student success and awareness of academy programs.
Qualifications
Counseling expertise in educational consulting, student counseling, and career counseling, with the ability to guide learners toward appropriate courses and career paths.
Strong communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to explain complex information in simple terms.
Background in education or a related field, with an understanding of academic advising, learning processes, and student support best practices.
Ability to build rapport with learners and families from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline; relevant certifications in counseling or career guidance are an advantage.
Organizational and time-management skills, including maintaining accurate records, handling multiple inquiries, and meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with programming or technology education (or willingness to learn) to effectively guide students toward suitable technical courses.
Comfort with basic digital tools and student management systems; prior experience
