The Company
Our client is an established FMCG group in Myanmar with significant food processing and manufacturing operations. As part of its continued focus on improving plant performance and operational reliability, the business is seeking an experienced expatriate Maintenance & Reliability Consultant to strengthen its engineering and maintenance systems.

The Position
The Consultant will review, design and improve the overall  maintenance and engineering reliability systems  across the manufacturing operations. The mandate will focus on establishing best-practice approaches to  maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, repair scheduling, breakdown management and equipment reliability , ensuring engineering resources and maintenance activities are effectively planned and executed.

Working closely with plant management and engineering teams, the Consultant will assess existing practices, identify reliability gaps and design practical systems, processes and schedules to improve equipment availability and reduce recurring breakdowns. The role will also provide technical guidance on major engineering and maintenance initiatives, introduce international best practices, and build the capability of the local maintenance and engineering teams.

This is an  expatriate consultancy assignment , with the Consultant expected to  be based in Yangon Myanmar  to review implementation, work directly with the plant teams and drive ongoing improvements.

The Person
The ideal candidate will be a senior  Maintenance, Reliability or Engineering professional  with extensive experience in  food processing or food manufacturing , preferably within large-scale or high-volume production environments. Strong practical experience in  maintenance management, preventive maintenance, reliability improvement, breakdown reduction, maintenance planning and scheduling  is essential.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in  designing and implementing engineering and maintenance systems , rather than simply managing day-to-day maintenance operations. Exposure to major plant engineering projects, maintenance optimization, equipment performance improvement and the introduction of structured best-practice maintenance methodologies will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate should be comfortable operating in a  consultative capacity , working with senior management while coaching local engineering and maintenance teams to implement sustainable improvements.
