Quality Inspector – Steel Casting Machine Shop

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Perform in-process and final inspection of machined steel casting components as per drawings and quality requirements.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspection on raw and machined castings to identify defects and deviations.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools for dimensional verification.
- Ensure inspection activities comply with customer specifications, drawings, and ISO quality standards.
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality system documentation as per established procedures.
- Support instrument maintenance and calibration activities related to inspection equipment.
- Coordinate with production, machine shop, and quality teams for non-conformance identification and corrective actions.
- Assist in quality audits and follow standard quality and safety practices in the machine shop.
- Work in rotational shifts as per production requirements.

Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Foundry or a related discipline.
- Experience in quality inspection within a steel casting machine shop environment is preferred.
- Same manufacturing experience:
Candidates with prior experience in steel casting or similar heavy engineering manufacturing organizations will be preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and inspection standards.

Skills

- Strong knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques for machined components.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Basic knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods is an advantage.
- Good understanding of quality systems, documentation, and ISO standards.
- Attention to detail with a disciplined and quality-focused approach.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Salary range: ₹12,000 – ₹25,000 per month (based on experience and skill level).
