Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Colchester, CT (onsite, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm). The position is fully onsite and reports directly to the CFO.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The role involves managing general accounting activities, financial reporting, banking, and month‑end close processes. The analyst will support budgeting, forecasting, and income statement analysis; ensure compliance with sales tax regulations; prepare return filings; establish and maintain financial controls; assist with the annual financial and tax audit; and manage special projects as necessary.
Responsibilities- Manage general accounting activities, financial reporting, banking, and month‑end close.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations and timely filing of returns.
- Perform day‑to‑day budgeting, forecasting, and income statement analysis.
- Complete month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close for assigned functional areas.
- Analyze and report on monthly variances to budget and prior year.
- Prepare sales and use tax returns accurately and timely.
- Establish and maintain financial controls.
- Assist with the annual financial and tax audit process.
- Manage special projects as necessary.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with income statements and banking.
- High proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management.
Skills & Qualifications
- College degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- CPA or similar professional achievement preferred.
- Background in distribution is preferred but not required.
The position is office‑based and requires onsite presence every day. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The company is family‑owned and has been in business for over 100 years, providing a stable and supportive work environment.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire, Colchester, CT.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $36.05 – $40.86 per hour.
