Purpose of the RoleAs a Tax Senior, you will solidify core technical expertise, take ownership of client work, and contribute to team development and business growth. Your teamwork and communication skills will be essential in leading client engagements and supporting senior staff.
Key tasks and responsibilities- Prepare a broad range of Tax Returns, including personal, trust and estate returns.
- Maintain knowledge of HMRC’s Trust Registration Service and IHT forms.
- Review Tax Returns and other compliance documents for accuracy.
- Provide technical expertise in trust, estate and inheritance tax work.
- Assist with training the team and giving constructive feedback.
- Coordinate with HMRC on a variety of matters.
- Support advisory and project work, mentoring staff as needed.
- Ensure high‑quality client services with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with other departments to guarantee client satisfaction.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and report to management.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on tax legislation.
- Engage in business development activities customised to your development plan.
- Ideally AAT qualified and/or CTA (or studying towards).
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Core knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
