Mac Kenzie King are excited to be recruiting an Interim Financial Accountant (18 months) to join a well-established business, based North of Colchester. As an Interim Financial Accountant
, you will be working with a collaborative finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting a range of transformation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with process improvement and project work.
- Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare and post journals with minimal supervision.
- Support the preparation and completion of statutory accounts and group reporting submissions.
- Perform reconciliations of debtor, creditor and intercompany balances across multiple entities.
- Produce and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers and other key stakeholders, providing documentation and responding to queries as required.
- Ensure accounting policies, controls and governance requirements are applied consistently.
- Lead and support finance improvement projects, including systems enhancements and process optimisation initiatives.
- Mentor and support junior team members where required, with potential line management responsibilities.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum two years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using financial systems.
- Excellent understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting requirements.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Previous audit and assurance experience.
- Experience working within a shared services, multi-entity or group reporting environment.
- Exposure to finance systems implementation or process improvement projects.
