Job Description - Accountant

The Accountant plays a key role within the finance department, providing support across financial and accounting activities and reporting functions. The position focuses on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, ensuring robust record-keeping, controlling accounts, and complying with regulatory requirements.

The role also contributes to the preparation of financial statements, analysis of financial data, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, auditors, and internal/external stakeholders. The objective is to maintain financial transparency, mitigate risks, and drive financial efficiency across the organisation.

Main Tasks

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including revenue, cost of goods sold, margin, and operational cost analysis
  • Preparation of HFM reporting, including reconciliations to underlying ERP accounts
  • Resolution of queries to reduce variances with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring shared service centre output
  • Working with the shared service centre to reduce debt with internal and external stakeholders
  • Production of management information reports
  • Leading the preparation of audit and tax documentation for all UK & Ireland entities
  • Implementing new or changing accounting and reporting requirements as directed by Corporate
  • Conducting comprehensive financial performance analysis to identify business trends and key drivers for budget achievement
  • Preparing and analysing accounts and KPIs for actuals, budgets, and forecasts

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable understanding complex technical information and reporting at varying levels. Strong analytical and organisational skills are essential. You will be results-driven, proactive, and solutions-focused, with a positive "can-do" approach. You work well within a team and demonstrate flexibility and empathy.

We Expect You to Have:

  • At least 4 years' experience in a similar accounting position, with strong knowledge of business processes
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS, local financial regulations, accounting standards, compliance, and governance
  • Experience with relevant software (ideally SAP or Navision)
  • Experience working within a multinational organisation and matrix structure
