Payroll Manager

A well-established and expanding multi-site hospitality group is looking to appoint a Payroll Manager to join its growing team, based near Colchester. Experience with in hospitality is not necessary.

• Preparing, checking and reconciling multiple payrolls across different periods, including weekly rota closures
• Reviewing rotas and reports side‑by‑side, catching anomalies and ensuring the numbers stack up
• Being the go‑to person for site managers with payroll queries resolving them quickly and clearly
• Maintaining accurate records for SSP, SMP and other statutory payments
• Processing anomalies, expenses, bonuses and live‑in rent adjustments

• Solid grounding in payroll
• Confident working knowledge of SMP, SSP, SPP, pensions, tax, pro‑rating, Tronc and payroll variations
• Comfortable closing and interrogating rotas, previewing reports and spotting inconsistencies before they become problems$
• Able to calculate estimates confidently and explain payroll matters in plain English
• Multi‑site payroll experience would be a big plus; hospitality exposure welcome but not necessary
• A proactive mindset, sharp attention to detail and an appetite for process improvement
