A highly regarded and growing accountancy practice is seeking an Audit Manager to join its Colchester office. Working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services while developing your commercial, technical and leadership skills.

The Role As Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing and leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring exceptional client service and technical excellence throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing a varied client portfolio across multiple sectors

Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion

Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing ongoing coaching and development

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Leading client meetings and acting as a trusted adviser

Supporting Partners and Directors with portfolio management and business development initiatives

Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts

Assisting with corporate and personal tax compliance work where required

Identifying opportunities to enhance client service and add value

Contributing to the development and growth of the wider team About YouACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Currently working within a UK accountancy practice environment

Operating at Audit Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager level

Experienced in leading external audit assignments

Confident in managing client relationships and supervising teams

Technically strong with a solid understanding of UK accounting and auditing standards

Ambitious and motivated by career progression

Keen to take on greater responsibility and develop towards senior leadership positions
