Contract

Full-Time, Permanent

Salary

OTE up to £40,780 (Uncapped). Base salary £34,000 depending on qualifications, plus £3,000 productivity bonus and time saved bonus scheme.

Hours

40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm.

Job Summary

We are recruiting a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our workshop. You will work alongside experienced technicians, carrying out vehicle health checks, services and repairs. You will report to the Aftersales Manager, receiving support and training opportunities including manufacturer accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric training.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
  • Perform checks in line with manufacturers guidelines
  • Fit any additional accessories requested by the customer
  • Conduct vehicle health checks and report any additional work required
  • Check vehicle lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components
  • Complete minor repairs on new and used vehicles
  • Understand and carry out basic diagnosis in both mechanical and electrical work
  • Conduct vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
  • Carry out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
  • Complete warranty repairs according to manufacturer’s guidelines, ensuring relevant write‑ups are completed
  • Take the customer's vehicle on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
  • Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non‑brand), and a full and valid UK driving licence. You’ll be self‑motivated, able to support your team, ambitious, eager to learn, and capable of maintaining the highest standards for every vehicle that enters our shop.

Previous brand experience is desirable but not essential; brand accreditation training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT, and EV experience is also desirable but not essential.
